2014 Annual Appeal

Thank you for your ongoing support of Community Mediation, Inc.!  CM is in its 34th year of assisting clients in generating various options to resolve their issues. Through our mediation, facilitation, and training services, CM helps the communities we serve to manage conflict in a more effective and satisfactory manner through self-determination.

Solar Youth participating in a nonverbal communication exercise called “Crossing the River” CM has has been partnering with area youth serving organizations to teach conflict resolution, nonviolence, and communication for many years.

This year we decided to give you options as well.  You can choose a preferred program for your donation. *

Veterans Mediation:  You can support us in training a select group of military veterans who will partner with CM staff and experienced volunteers.  These teams will provide mediation services to other veterans with conflicts related to employment, housing and their families.

Peer Mediation & Restorative Justice in Schools:  You can help us move schools away from punitive, inconsistent, and unsafe approaches to student discipline. Through CM’s training in restorative practices, peer mediation and conflict resolution skills, schools can create a culture of empathy, leadership and true accountability to their communities.

Sliding Scale Mediation Fees:  You can enable us to offer our mediation services to anyone in the community, regardless of their ability to pay. CM mediates conflicts in areas of landlord/tenant, parent/teen, divorce, family inheritance, employee/employer, small business, and neighborhood relationships.

Training Scholarships: You can help us to defray the cost of providing conflict resolution and mediation training to those who cannot afford our standard low fees. This will allow effective communication skills to become more widespread throughout our local communities.

* Of course, you can also donate to CM without expressing a preference for a particular program.

We ask that, if you have not given in the past, please consider doing so this year.  If you have given in the past, we invite you to increase your level in 2014.  All levels of donations are welcome!
